Wes Fitness Challenge Update – 2-6-2013

The year is starting off correctly.  I have so far lost a total of 4 lbs. (1.81 Kg) since I started the challenge.  For the last two weeks, I have gone to the gym as much as I could.  This Big Game weekend has seen me skip the gym for four days.  I’m hating the thought, but I have pretty much not had an option.  Well, I have, but it didn’t happen.  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were days that I should have gone and not let other things stand in my way.  We as humans tend to let things get in the way of us doing things our minds say we need to do.  Monday….well, Monday was a Monday.  No excuse, but it was.  Being late for work meant that I had to spend as much time at my desk as possible and not take a longer lunch to go run.

Sunday night was food night at our house as it was in many houses with access to the game.  I bought a smoked Boston butt from the men’s group at the church and it was delicious.  It practically fell apart when I grabbed it and started ripping it to pieces.  That, along with BBQ sauce, homemade spicy chili, cheese dip, and a beer filled me up.  I didn’t make it to bed as I passed out on the couch.  I know…I was evil to myself!  I will make it up to myself this coming week as I am off on Thursday and Friday.  I foresee myself going to the gym and also going hiking as long as the weather holds out.  The trail I go to often has a good number of hills to help with burning calories.

I purchased a pair of Andrew Christian briefs the other night as they have some on markdown.  I can’t wait to get them and continue to work out till they look great on me.  I need some help with love handles, but with a flatter stomach, I can at least tolerate myself in the mirror.  Who knows, you may get to see me in them next time I post!  Stay tuned….
