Fitness Challenge #1 – RWraith55 Update

Hey boys!!! Hope everyone is doing well. I appolgize for the late post, I should have posted on Friday. But life happens.

Anyways, with the first fitness challenge put forth by our fearless trainer it took me some time to complete it. Not because I didn’t like it or because I didn’t have the time. but because I actually am in the middle of winter rowing training already. Which takes place 3 times a week. So I couldn’t hit the gym to do my own thing till this past Friday.

Now I wasn’t able to do it like Undiesboy and do it several times during the week and give overall averages. So here are my numbers and I don’t mind sharing.  So for Circuit A I did 5 sets of pushups and squats. The pushups started well but went downhill from there. But that is what I expected. The squats I kept steady as to give myself a consistant break from the pushups. I was able to do 25 pushups to start with and then each set decreased until the last 2 sets I was struggling to hit 10 each. The squats were pretty easy and I realize now I am sure I could have pushed myself to do more each set but I kept it consistant at 30 each set.

In terms of Curcuit B the planks were easy. Ever since I started rowing last May 2012, planks have been a part of the training since a strong core is essential to rowing. So doing 15 sec each was not a problem. The bicycle kicks were a blast from the past and I didn’t realize how great they are for core work till now. Those got a bit more tricky as I moved through the 5 sets but I was able to be consistent and work hard on my form

All and all, it was a good work out and great to do after an hour of cardio.

Thanks to Shaun for such a great workout. I plan to add this into my regular weekly routine and will report back on how my numbers improve over time.

Keep working hard and aiming for your goals 🙂
