Week One of the Undies 101 Fitness Challenge is behind us and it’s time to share the knowledge gained about fitness and ourselves. If nothing else through this venture, we should gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to make us tick, both mentally and physically.
This past week, we were assigned two circuits of activity which were pushups and squats and then planks, side planks, and bicycle kicks. To be totally honest, I’ve only done the pushups. I tend to do pushups just for the hell of it. Every now and then, I will just get on the floor and pump out a few. When I was in much better shape in 2011, I was doing pushups multiple times a day whenever the feeling hit.
Here, however, is the fly in the tea kettle. When I do arm exercises with weight being pushed upward, such as pushups, my elbows pop loudly. It’s strange that this does not happen when I do bench presses, but I’m glad as it isn’t the best feeling thing. It reminds me of a clutch in a stick shift. There’s a “sweet spot” where it catches and you feel the difference. I’m sure there is an elbow band or something that would help with the issue.
Good Luck Wes! You can do it! We all can!!
