Fitness Challenge Intro-Dakota

Hey guys, I think you all know me by now.  It’s been so fun showing off and blogging about my favorite thing in the world–underwear and gear–with all of you!  I am very excited about the fitness challenge and the potential for motivation and results it will produce.  I cannot wait to share this experience and watch as we all  push each other along towards our own personal goals.

Working out has always been a roller coaster for me.  I grew up for the most part as a pretty skinny kid with an average body, not too much body fat all of my life.  I had a couple moments across the years with a few extra pounds, but fat was really never much of a big issue.  I never really had muscle tone because I honestly  never played sports or worked out.  In college I did work out a bit here and there.  After that though it just was never a part of my life.  I am now almost 36, and did not ever really workout or go to the gym until I was about 33.  Crazy I know.
At that time I was on the tail end of a relationship which propelled into being single for a while.  It was a great chance to focus on me and step up my workout habits.  I had a personal trainer at my gym, and we worked well together.  I was at my lowest weight I had ever been as an adult, and it allowed me to start on a clean slate of trying to eat right, build muscle mass and stay lean.  I was in the 140-145lb range and at my lowest a body fat of only 6%.  Even my trainer teased me that I was the only client with a lower body fat than him!

That was me then, and my goal is to get back to that–as far as being lean and muscle tone go.  I am not worried about being 140 lbs again.  I am ok with weighing more as long as it’s due to muscle.  I am now 155lbs and it is all in my midsection, the dreaded spare tire!  Work has been crazy, and trying to balance life and part time job stripping has made it almost impossible to nail down time to workout and maintain a healthy lifestyle.  I have decided to take a break from dancing so I can focus on me and my body again.  When I heard about the challenge, it meshed perfectly with the timing and plans I had for starting back into a healthy routine.
My biggest challenges are setting a routine around a revolving schedule that varies day to day and week to week.  On top of that, planning, prepping and eating the right foods amongst a crazy schedule is always a weak spot for me.  I am challenging myself to be better and scheduling and planning it all ahead of time and sticking to it, using a notebook to track it all.
Here are a few pics from more recently, this summer and fall.  I’ve even gotten a little thicker since then and these photos probably hide some of my girth well lol.  While a lot of friends and followers of me as a stripper seem to like and appreciate my thicker body and look, I am not comfortable with it and I know I can look a lot better like I once did.

I look forward to the inspiration, motivation, encouragement and help from all of you during this journey!  I know it will be challenging yet fun and extremely worth it!  Feel free to hit me up with any questions or advice, I will be happy to share my e-mail with you!
Here we go guys!  ðŸ˜‰
