Being my first blogpost for Undies101 I suppose I should introduce myself. I’m the new UK blogger for the site. I’m into more classic styles of underwear that compliment the body and provide support (but also look really hot)
The 2XIST brand has been around since it’s inception in 1991 yet it took me until 2012 to find out about them. My first pair was given as a gift; the Modal No-Show Brief, one of the brands signature styles.
While 2XIST deliver to the UK, they are not a mainstay of the underwear stores in the same way as some other, more well known (and in many cases, less appealing and inferior) brands are. This is one reason why I’m so glad to have the opportunity to review the style.
On the 2XIST website, this style; the “Modal No-Show” is listed under “EVERYDAY ESSENTIALS”. Personally I think this label does a slight injustice to the style. It is difficult to design a style of underwear that is classic,comfortable, fits well and provides the support needed. You can have as many flashy colours as you like but if you can’t get the basics right you are doomed to a niche market.
The colours in this style have a tone and hue that do not overpower the wearer. They are not shiny so reflect the light, giving a nicer silhouette and a, dare I say it, skintone quality, to the underwear. In other words, the underwear does not WEAR the man; the man WEARS the underwear and it compliments him.
Where to wear:
Anywhere. The style is classic enough to wear to work or the gym but it is also able to be worn on nights out (when you think someone might see them). In fact, the first time I wore this pair I was complimented by a few people on how well they looked.
