*** Dead Souls in a Checker Pattern ***

I am listening to the soundtrack to a movie by Bruce La Bruce called “Otto, or, Up With Dead People“. It is one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time and finding this music, which arrived via Amazon.com today, is a real treat. The film spans a variety of themes but the basic plot revolves around a new unborn and undead zombie trying to navigate through the world of the living as one of the dead. To make matters more of a challenge, he’s gay. The question of or whether or not he is really dead or a confused lost soul is up to the viewer. I’ve seen this brilliant movie 3 times over and each time walk away feeling more alive and a with a better understanding of how I effect the world around me and the responsibility I have to care for the people and “ideas” that make up the tapestry of my existence on this earth. I bring this up now because I have felt that “dead” feeling a number of times recently where nothing seems important or I make no difference or I simply am so tired that I just don’t care: DEAD. It is the little things, like this blog, that lift me up and remind me that I can care, have an influence, be heard, reach out, and share something that I am passionate about, not just through and underwear fetish, which my bank account fully suffers from, but by any means of communication and forward movement I choose to use. Being DEAD is a choice and not something thrust upon me. I let that in and if I don’t want it then I have to choose NOT to be DEAD. (I will say that the gay zombie sex in the film is pretty fucking hot! If you don’t believe me check it out as well as La Bruce’s last film, “LA Zombie” which is more of a HOT porno with little dialogue but the sex is still blood drippingly good.}

These are a pair of H&M Contrast Briefs purchased back in 2004 from 5th ave. Back then underwear at that retailer was really sexy and full of color and still uber cheap. I think I paid like $5 for this pair, a feat not possible in that establishment anymore. 90% cotton and 10% spandex and filled with fun green colors and checker patterns, they make me feel like, as Matt on this blog would put it, “Like a kid again.” These were purchased for a play I was in specifically for the checkered waist band showing the juvenile nature of the character I played. The fact I still wear them says a lot about me. Enjoy! -DJBakelite

Remember, playing dead is a choice…. You have control!
