@MWearNYC make some amazing undies! So today, I am fortunate enough to be wearing and reviewing a jock from MWearNYC. Before I launch into the specifics about the jock itself, let me talk a bit about MWearNYC, a men’s underwear and swimwear brand designed and made in NYC. It was created in NYC in 2017 by a theatrical costume designer, Matthew Hampton. While he was at work on the Great White Way, the assorted burlesque performance and strip shows, Matthew realized that all shapes of men would love to have underwear made specifically for them and their bodies! That realization spurred Matthew on to create MWearNYC. Their goal is to empower men of all diversities to feel sexy and comfortable in their skin by offering customizable ready to wear underwear and full custom service. For those of you that have read Undies101 long enough, you’ll know that we embrace the ethos of MWearNYC – all men deserve to look and feel sexy in their underwear! That’s been our mantra from the beginning, so we’re thrilled to be working with them on this review!
For the purpose of this review, I was sent the very colorful Graffiti Jockstrap, in Medium. According to the MWearNYC site size chart, a Medium is 32-34”. I did consult their chart before giving them my size, so I knew that Medium, while my usual size, was right for this brand as well. There are several other colours and patterns available on their website so check that out if this particular pattern isn’t to your liking. This particular jock is made from 80% Nylon and 20% Spandex and there is definitely plenty of give in them. The logo waistband is 1 ½” with ¾” leg straps. Be careful about washing instructions, as these are recommended for air/line drying and not in the machine. If that makes a difference for you, better to know ahead of time!
In my extensive collection, this is probably one of my favorite jockstraps. The waistband is very nicely designed and is soft and comfortable to wear. The leg straps however shine. They twisted a little when I initially pulled the jock on in the morning, but after that, any time the jock got pulled up, it’s almost like they had muscle memory. There was no twisting, and they went back into place without a hitch! That’s a great jock! They didn’t twist at all during the day, and it was one of those days when I was up and down and walking all over the place. I loved that I didn’t have to worry about any re-adjustment throughout the day. I wasn’t sure about the print when I first saw it, but the more I’ve worn and lived in it, the more I’ve grown to love it. The material is super soft and silky feeling on, and the pouch is great for giving you a bit of a lift. There’s just enough material in the pouch that you have some lift, but not too much that there’s extra. There’s no crushing with this pouch, and it held its shape throughout the day very nicely. Actually, the jock felt just as great at the end of the day as it did at the beginning.
As most of our loyal readers know, our ratings scale is a bit different from most. We don’t do stars or numerical ratings. As we believe that anyone can look and feel good in their underwear, and that is all about the relationship you have with your body and your underwear and finding the right fit, style and fabric, our ratings scale is based on relationships.
Flirting Material: It fits okay, great to wear out for a short amount of time.
Hook Up Material: The fit is much better, sits well and wears well but might not be comfortable for all day wear.
Dating Material: Fit is great, it sits well, accentuates the positives and wears really well – suitable for all day wear.
Match Made in Heaven: You love the fit; you love the style, best undies you’ve worn in years and will be a part of your regular wear.
