Why New Year’s Resolutions Fail.

My name is Scott Locker and not only do I love sexy underwear, I’m also a personal trainer.  I was asked to do some fitness related posts to see if there is an interest, after all it’s a underwear blog and who doesn’t want to feel good and look amazing in their underwear or naked for that matter.

Today I wanted to talk about fitness related New Year’s Resolutions and why people struggle to keep them longer then February.  The main problem that I have seen is that too many people go from zero to 60 and then wonder why they can’t keep up past Valentines’ Day.  They will go from not doing much of anything to going to the gym everyday, and not eating the best to having nothing but fruits and vegetables in their house.  That is too many changes too fast and it’s not sustainable.  The intention is good but not practical to be successful.  This is a recipe for disaster for the majority of people, not to say that it can’t work.

Instead, make small changes and over time they become sustainable habits.  If you don’t eat breakfast, start by eating breakfast.  If you have issues with lunch or diner start by cleaning one of those meals up 1st.  Then you can work on everything else.  I tell a lot of clients to start simple, eat more vegetables with your meals and drink more water and less, soda, alcohol, or sugary drinks.  Notice I didn’t say to cut anything out and just to add more vegetables and water.

Exercise will always be good for you.  If you aren’t doing some kind of exercise or “can’t find time” to go to the gym, try 3; 10 min walks a day.  Anyone can do 10 mins.  If someone told me that I had to go to the gym to get on a treadmill, elliptical, rower, etc. for an hour I wouldn’t be very motivated to go to the gym.

Is this a complete list of how to get fit, no but it is a good start.  Making small changes will help you to be more successful.  Start by drinking more water and eating more vegetables and add 3; 10 minute walks everyday preferably after you eat.  It’s about progress not perfection.

If you have questions you would like me to cover on here or just questions in general please feel free to email me: scottlockerxxx@undies101.com   Hope everyone has an awesome week.
