Keeping Cool on a Hot Throwback Thursday

For #throwbackthursday, I always try to feature a piece of vintage clothing that I’ve found on my Instagram feed. I try to match all components of the wardrobe into a cohesive ensemble, using a combination of colors, patterns, and stylistic elements. This applies to the outerwear, but even includes my choice of underwear.

Today, I paired a vintage blue-and-green windowpane reversible vest with a pair of navy slacks. I used the green in the vest to pull together a green woven tie and a green bikini brief, the blue in the vest complemented the blue button-up shirt, and completed the look with a green corduroy jacket.

While this look is cool, it was apparently a little too hot for the office, where the temperature was a balmy 85F (30C). Peeling off layers in an attempt to beat the heat, I even finally dropped my trousers to cool down a bit.

These green, bikini briefs by YuKaiChen are primarily nylon, with some spandex. I was surprised that they managed to provide a good amount of breathability, despite being made from synthetic fibers. Regardless of the heat trapped elsewhere on my body by the heavy fabrics, my lower region remained dry and comfortable all day! Additionally, these briefs provided enough support without being constricting and the fabric feel is incredibly smooth against the skin.

Thankfully, I found a way to keep cool on a hot Throwback Thursday. And these briefs and the ability to bare-all in my office certainly helped!
