*** Review – Dingodude Bamboo Fiber Trunks by DJ Bakelite ***

Hello fellow undies fans. Welcome to a review of an underwear brand new to me out of Australia. Dingodude was founded in 2011 by Brian Lambton and Michael Glover who sought a new approach to creating underwear for men. They saw a gap in the market in men’s furnishings where the ‘how’ a garment was made equaled the quality of the product. Through extensive research Brian and Michael developed a way to create well made undergarments for men using ethical manufacturing practices combined with quality materials that leave a small carbon footprint on the planet.

All garments are made from a bamboo fiber. This material is biodegradable and sustainable. Unlike cotton, which in production uses a fair amount of pesticides and fertilizer, bamboo fibres used in Dingodude products are grown with simple rain water. Bamboo plants, which grow rapidly, are effective at gathering CO2 carbon emissions from the atmosphere. The plant when grown in habitat also prevents soil erosion.

Bamboo fiber, which is created by treating the cellulose pulp from the plant and turning it into a soft and tactile synthetic material similar to rayon, has a natural antibacterial quality to it. It is able to eliminate body odor and wick moisture from the body when worn. Additionally, it can be blended with other materials to create a silky feeling on the skin.

Dingodude makes three styles of underwear for men: briefs, trunks, and boxer briefs. They come in sizes small through extra large. All garments are knit and come in a variety of colors. The prices range from $15.95 to $17.95 Australian dollars. The material blend on all garments is 95% bamboo fiber and 5% elastane. The underwear has a really clever 1 1/4 inch waistband that has the Dingodude name and logo in black and white encircling the waist. There is a very prominent care instruction tag sewen on the inside back seam of the underwear. Additionally, there is a functional fly aside of the contoured pouch of the garments that is accented with a white ribbing on the inner and otter slit.

I was fortunate to receive a pair of sky blue trunks to test out. You can find the pair on their website by clicking —-> here <—-. The first thing that I noticed was the silky feel of the fabric. They have the sensation of gently hugging the skin and forming to the shape of my body. I prefer trunks or briefs with my body type being thin. The elastane within the material content hugs my thighs just right so there is no riding or bunching. The waistband fits squarely on my hips which prevents the the sewn down tag on the inside of the back of the garment from chafing. Though I have never been one to use the ‘fly’ in underwear, the functionality of it on the trunk is great. The trim on the slits of the fly not only look fetching but provide a barrier away from your skin so there is no uncomfortable rubbing from the seam when worn all day.

We have a specific rating system here at undies101.com which is a follows:

Flirting Material:  It fits okay, great to wear out for a short amount of time.

Hook Up Material:  The fit is much better, sits well and wears well but might not be comfortable for all day wear.

Dating Material:  The fit is great, sits well, accentuates the positives and wears really well – suitable for all day wear.

Match Made in Heaven:  You love the fit, you love the style, best undies you’ve worn in  years and will be a part of your regular wear.

For me and my personal tastes I would give these the rank of Dating Material. These fit amazing on the body and wear well all day. The colors are fun and flirty. The construction and design is on point. The psychology behind the creation of Dingodude underwear makes me feel good as a consumer. They are an all around good addition to make to an underwear drawer and I recommend them to anyone who wants a well made and reasonably priced trunk to invest in. If you are looking for wild patterns and fucky designs, though they do have some fun striped options, this may not be the brand for you, but if you want a good quality underwear conscientiously designed with the environment in mind than Dingodude is for you.

You can find this trunk and many other designs on their website by clicking —-> here <—-. A special thanks goes out to the folks at Dingodude for the donation of this underwear for the purpose of review by undies101.com.

Thanks to all of you for checking out undies101.com. More to come. DJBakelite
