I watched the events of yesterday unfold on the news and all I could think about was the Billy Joel song…we didn’t start the fire. There have been times in my life that I have been embarrassed to be an American. Traveling abroad during the Bush (43) administration was sometimes a challenge, but not like this. I was embarrassed when he made up words, but not like this.
I was abroad during the inauguration of this administration, and there was an immediate change in atmosphere toward American’s after that. I have traveled overseas extensively during his time in office and I have grown more and more distraught with every passing day. This dumpster fire needs to be extinguished. We didn’t start the fire…it was always burning, since the worlds been turning…but I want to make sure it ends and ends here.
I don’t usually get political on here, and I apologize. I am a student of Political Science – literally my undergraduate degree. I might have been embarrassed before yesterday, but seeing everything unfold, I wept for the state of our nation. We truly are a laughingstock in the world. I’m in a nice bright blue N2NBodywear thong today. It has a great pouch, and is super stretchy to accommodate even the largest of endowments. This is cotton, so does shrink a bit in the washer/dryer, so I do up-size on thongs from the brand. That way they don’t becoming annoying throughout the day instead of sexy.
