Not like the world wasn’t on a giant pause before this, but snow days tend to emphasize that pause even more, at least for me. All of the NorthEast was hammered by storms Monday into Tuesday evening (maybe even longer) and there is still snow on the ground in NYC – which is another rarity. It is apparently one of the worst storms NYC has seen in decades.
Monday was just a no go – I don’t think I left the apt. I had gone out on Sunday and grabbed a few things from the grocery store, just in case. When the snow started falling on Monday I was happy to not have to leave. It was white out conditions in the city. I looked out the window and couldn’t see more than a block away.
Central Park saw 18″ accumulate and then we got another 3 or so as the storm worked its way out of our area. Tuesday I ventured out, just to see what it was like, to get out of the apt for a little while and also to run to the post office. It wasn’t treacherous, but it wasn’t an easy stroll either. Tuesday was a pair of Myth Underwear long johns in grey and they were so appropriate for the day. I had them on under jeans for my errands and then under my PJ pants when I got back to the apt. Today was a patterned jock strap from Timoteo. It has been so comfortable under my fleece PJ pants – yes we are in that phase of the pandemic again, if I don’t have to go out, I wear PJ pants or sweats on the bottom and only throw a button down or sweater on up top if I have a video call. Snow days…the great pause, at least for a few hours.
