In the last few months I’ve really shifted gears in regards to choosing clothing. With no real reason to get dressed up (I wear scrubs for work) I had this surplus of money and began investing into my workout attire. Trying brands like BoohooMan, ASOS, and the ever so popular Gymshark. My point being that I would like to think I know a thing or two about fitness clothing. So when asked if I was interested in doing a review for one I had never tried I was ecstatic. They came in the mail nicely packaged which was just fine with me. I appreciate the efforts brands make when it comes to packaging but ultimately it just ends up being thrown away. So I unsealed the white tank that I received first. The official name for this tank is The Shredder which is designed to show off your hard work in the gym. Made of a  95% Cotton and 5% Spandex blend it makes for a soft, comfortable fit. It is an athletic fit so it is snug if you’re trying to show off those gains but if you’d like for a more relaxed fit, it is recommended that you go up a size or two. Next was a pair of black shorts known as The Runner Short. As someone who primarily wears short shorts to the gym I was more than happy to try them out. Made of  87% Nylon and 13% Spandex they are perfect for any of my thick thighed gents looking for shorts that have give but still maintain their shape but if you’d like a looser fit be sure to go up a size or two. They’re lined with a breathable mesh made of the same nylon/spandex blend (so underwear are totally optional) and have two zippered side pockets which can be useful for anyone choosing to run outdoors and need a place for their keys. 

So before I go into the review just a brief history of Poseidon Fitness Attire which started in the UK as a small startup back in 2017.  After a 2 year hiatus, they are finally back as Poseidon Fitness Clothing under new ownership in the US. The company has made San Diego their home which is a perfect place to find inspiration. The brand’s goal is to provide customers with classic and modern style for the gym and beyond at a reasonable price.

Without further or do let’s get into this review! I knew if I was going to give an honest review I needed to do so on leg day. I met up with a friend who is also an avid short short wearer and he complimented my outfit stating “you look cute, new shorts?” I explained to him that I was breaking them in for a review but that I enjoyed the way they fit. We went through our lifts and followed with an hour of cardio. During my workouts I didn’t experience any discomfort aside from the inside lining riding up occasionally which is in part to my larger lower body this is very common with most underwear/shorts for me so it wasn’t a deal breaker. I would just order them a size up if it bothered me that much but it didn’t. I don’t mind a little riding up in exchange for a good fit cause I’m all about the aesthetics. During my cardio the shorts did show more legs than what I am accustomed to but the freedom they gave in exchange was unparalleled plus it was very airy so again not a complaint just an observation. In regards to the tank top I don’t usually wear white to workout in because I sweat like a pig and that is apparent when it comes to wearing lighter colors. Color aside I enjoyed the fit and feel of the tank. I chose to tuck it into the shorts but if I paired it with some leggings or sweatpants I would have left it untucked because it’s the perfect length to cover your bulge if you’re not trying to blind others while you workout. The large arm holes allowed for a complete range of motion so I’ll be sure to revisit it on a chest or arm day.
