I got myself a handful of panties from rue 21 the other day and decided to bring them with me when I went out of town. I was doing some workshops with a company that I really want to be a future employer, so in addition to learning, I was putting a lot of focus on appearing knowledgeable but humble, asking smart questions, and treating everyone with kindness and respect. I mean, I’m obviously the ideal candidate, and I’m always, knowledgeable, humble, inquisitive, kind, and respectful, but it was still a pretty good deal of stress putting my best foot forward the entire time. I spent the entire trip changing from one set of panties to the next, and they gave me such calm and confidence to shake hands, make eye contact, and really digest the information that I was receiving. The whole experience filled me with a sense of agency over my career and optimism for my future. Usually I have to hide who I am behind a shield of who it’s acceptable for me to be, but when I have a new set of panties, I can conceal myself enough to appear more professional than performative, but still embrace myself enough to have the full backing of my the most interesting and engaging parts of myself. It’s not ideal that I still have to hide at all, but it’s a step forward, and that’s why I do this!
These are some nice teal hipsters with a black lace waistband that were just too much fun to pass up! The color is so different from anything else that I own that I feel like I’m emerging from a cocoon when I take off everything else…so when the other participants in the training suggested that we spend part of the evening in the hotel swimming pool, I just had to use them as a bathing suit!
I may have had a little bit to drink that night, but I’m nothing if not composed. I was bold, but I acted like a lady. Maybe a topless lady with wet hair in a pair of teal panties, but that’s not important. One of the other ladies told me that I looked beautiful the next morning, and that’s what matters the most. Sorry for the quality of these pictures, by the way. You can only take near-nude selfies in a hotel hallway for so long before you have to avoid getting caught.
