Fitness Challenge Update – Week 4 – Greg

Okay – the twist that Shaun threw us last week was a challenge! I’ve been doing well. I had been doing all of Shaun’s exercises at commercial breaks and using them instead of the ab work I usually do. I was feeling all confident with the first challenge he threw down since I had done all of the exercises before with either my trainer or my running coach. I made some good times and strides. I have continued the downhill trend with my weight, just not with as much each week as prior. That’s okay. As long as I keep going down I’m happy. As long as the tummy keeps getting flatter, I am okay.

I have to admit that last week’s challenge was harder than I initially thought. Alternating staggered push ups, no problem…sumo squats more challenging than squats, but not too bad. The real killer were the new planks! Holy crap. Much more difficult than I thought. Damn!!! I kept at it and kept trying though. By the end of the week they were much easier than at the beginning.

I’ve done well enough with the diet and exercise lately that things aren’t fitting the same anymore. I needed some new jeans and the pair I recently bought is a full waist size smaller than they have been…yay!!! Now…nothing says new commitment to working out than new workout clothes. I don’t usually spend a ton on shorts for the gym, but I had one pair of shorts with built in compression short style liners and I loved them. I have wanted to find more for a long time. I found them in lululemon but they were so expensive. They had shorts with built in compression short style liners. Much better than the little brief style liners…and great to travel with. I treated myself to two pair last week to celebrate all of the success I’ve been having! What do you think? I loved them…there’s another pair I want…that will be after taxes come in!
