Ever since I was little, I always believed that if you wanted something bad enough, there’s nothing stopping you from getting it, except yourself! (And sometimes money…)
It had always been my dream to launch my own label, so in 2013, I put an idea into place. Having had no experience in the fashion world what so ever, I set out to teach myself about that world and create my own label,
Zayn. After about a year of market research, I put all my life savings into it. Everything I ever had. I did everything myself, from designing the underwear and packaging, to teaching myself HTML coding to create my website, to shipping the product from my bedroom. I absolutely LOVE it and still get excited when I get an order.
The most amazing thing about this whole experience has been when I got to physically hold my product from the manufacturers which made everything real!
18 months on, Zayn is going quite steadily, we’ve even appeared on Norwegian morning television! But I’m ready for the next step in the Zayn Evolution.
Currently, my website is not responsive to smartphone and iPad users. With these funds, I’m hoping to completely redevelop my website, make it more user friendly, much slicker and FINALLY responsive to smartphone and iPad users!
I’ve already taken the risk of putting everything I have into this. And so far, it’s paid off!
But to redevelop my site requires a big chunk of funds all in one go. I want to do it properly, and obviously do a good job at it and keep a high standard. So the more funds I get the better the site will be and it will make for a more enjoyable experience for Zayn consumers.
I get a lot of positive feed back about the quality of my product and also have a few Australian celebrity supporters. I hope it doesn’t, but there is still the risk that it could all fall apart. But as long as I keep pushing through the challenges, I don’t think anything can stop me just yet!
