I’m not going to lie, there are perks to travel and there are perks to being loyal, sometimes. I have yet to be disappointed with Virgin Atlantic – their service is impeccable and I will fly them unless I can’t. They far outrank many others in their class. I am loyal to Hilton, as much as I can be and think in the last year I’ve only stayed in another chain for a total of maybe 4 nights. My points and miles have wracked up and I am the top tier of each of their loyalty programs…I love that. Granted, some Hilton’s are better than others, but I do enjoy the amenities and perks that come with membership. There are some things about travel that can be difficult – 70+ nights away from home this year alone, long haul flights, changes in time zones, jet lag – but if I get some perks out of it, part of it is all worthwhile. I do love to travel…and don’t mean any of this as a complaint…I have been able to see some amazing things this year that I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise…
