The UK isn’t known for having wonderful weather but when the sun does shine it’s time to strip down and show it all off down at the beach. Today I’m wearing a Poolboy Blue Mesh Swim Brief from cheapundies.com. The speedo-style swimwear is available in a range of colours and designs, from subtle darker colours to outrageous brightly coloured animal prints. For me, this light blue is the perfect balance between wanting to just swim and wanting to be noticed. The cut of the briefs is the same, just decent enough for a public beach but I know I’ll be getting looks and sexy enough for private pool parties.

I wasn’t sure of the mesh fabric at first. I think most men’s first mental images of mesh are something kinky but here the mesh is pretty discreet unless you are up real close, and even then the double lining in the pouch keeps them appropriate for public wear. The mesh fabric also means they feel incredibly light and keep everything cool with their handy ventilation. 

A lot of underwear that is aimed at guys who want to show off what the gear they are rocking include a separate pouch that enhances the package, which has its benefits to be sure but the benefit of that absence here means I can wear these out without worry of causing a scene… well, too much of a scene. Besides, the high cut of the thighs means that there’s no doubt I fill the front nicely and the way the fabric hugs the curves of my cheeks shows that I fill out the back too.

They come in a range of sizes, from small to x-large, the pair I’m modelling are a medium. If in doubt, go for the larger of the two, as the draw strings can be adjusted but the back can be unforgiving if the material digs into your glutes.

I love wearing briefs, both as my regular underwear of choice day to day and as my style of swimwear. While a lot of guys prefer the modesty of board-shorts, speedos can be both sexy and sporty and far superior if you want to do actual swimming.

I really suggest getting a pair with the mesh material if you really want everything down there to remain cool.

Based on the Undies101 rating scale I would give the Poolboy Blue Mesh Swim Brief a rating of “Dating Material“. The mesh material is incredibly comfortable and the overall design means I’m going to look good no matter the setting.

Flirting Material:  It fits okay, great to wear out for a short amount of time.

Hook Up Material:  The fit is much better, sits well and wears well but might not be comfortable for all day wear.

Dating Material:  The fit is great, sits well, accentuates the positives and wears really well – suitable for all day wear.

Match Made in Heaven:  You love the fit, you love the style, best undies you’ve worn in years and will be a part of your regular wear.
