Do the same rules about stripes apply to underwear too? Horizontal stripes are supposed to make you look bigger when you wear them in a shirt, while vertical stripes make you look slimmer. Isn’t that the way it goes according to the old adages? Do the same rules apply when it comes to underwear? Do you want to look bigger or slimmer down there, anyway?
I know that the science is fundamentally wrong in that assessment anyway, as horizontal stripes will indeed make you look slimmer, if worn correctly. Psychology Today did a whole piece on it a while back that I remember reading. Fascinating. Anyway, that whole debate came to the fore this morning as I pulled these striped briefs from the drawer to wear. They’re a fun Almost Naked pair of Andrew Christians with horizontal stripes in some Fall/Earth tone colours. They’re super easy to wear and oh so comfortable!
