So I’ve had two different and unique experiences on the subway in the last 24 hours. Yesterday, I was coming home from being out of the city for the weekend, and I was wearing an aWEARness tshirt from Kenneth Cole that read: “Those against same sex marriage aren’t thinking straight. (or are they?)” in purple letters on a black tee. I got a ton of looks on the train, and one guy sitting across from me loved it and wanted to take my picture, so I let him. I got a thumbs up from him. The good.
Today, coming home from work, I had a gentleman sitting next to me listening to his music loud enough that I could hear it, and he was humming along. When I put my earbuds in (they are the bose kind that help to drown out other noise, and I had a headache, and no intention of turning my iPod on, just wanted to drown out the other noise), he looked over, and started yelling for how loud my music was and that I should be more respectful to those around me. Mind you, I hadn’t even unlocked the iPod to turn it on…so if he heard music playing from my earbuds…he’s good!
