so…as I’m at the gym working out after work, I am watching in horror as the first pictures of the Metro crash in DC are coming in to newsrooms. It must have been agony for families who know loved ones ride those particular trains at those times. They were frightening pictures that I saw. I can’t imagine having a loved one on those trains.
It did get me thinking though. I ride public transit (the NYC subway) everyday as my means of transportation. I’ll take a cab if it’s late at night or early in the am, but I am usually on the subway. Who’s in charge of our safety down there? What went wrong in DC? I won’t let it stand in the way of me riding the train everyday, I need to get to work somehow and there’s really no better way around the city, but who’s in charge of safety down there?
