Hey all!
February is in full swing, and the challenges keep coming. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty swamped!
As I mentioned in a previous post, there are three things that effect our bodies – food, activity, and sleep. For this week’s challenge, we will focus on the often forgotten idea of sleep. In our very active world, with so many demands, sleep is one of the places where we cut corners.
Sleep is incredibly important to our bodies. Not only is it the time that we organize and store new memories, but it is also the time when our bodies repair. So if you’re exercising without getting enough sleep, your body is not rebuilding stronger each day – it’s just burning itself down.
This week’s challenge is to get 7-9 hours of sleep, every night, for at least three consecutive days. Make it a priority, and see how it effects you. I expect to see posts of what you wear to bed, if anything 😉 !
Note: sleeping off a night of drinking does not count! When we are intoxicated, we actually don’t enter our sleep cycles properly. It’s one of the reasons you’re so damn tired after a night out.
Good luck! Keep stepping up! Remember, next week I’m answering your fitness questions! So email me!!!
Ok Shaun no fair……you didn’t say or post pics of what you wear to bed…..;-)
I’m with Dakota on that one =)
Fair enough. I’ll post one up this week 🙂
